{"id":974,"date":"2010-09-19T13:15:14","date_gmt":"2010-09-19T17:15:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.asgroupinc.com\/?p=974"},"modified":"2010-09-19T13:15:14","modified_gmt":"2010-09-19T17:15:14","slug":"vote-for-the-conservative-because-they-can-win","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.asgroupinc.com\/vote-for-the-conservative-because-they-can-win\/","title":{"rendered":"Vote For the Conservative Because They Can Win"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>By James Allen, Townhall.com<\/p>\n<p>The Republican Party is in serious trouble if its leadership continues the habit of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/stories\/0910\/42204.html\">disparaging<\/a> conservative tea-party candidates. This is one reason why I believe  people have become disillusioned, left the Republican Party and are  looking for a third party that represents their values, no matter how  damaging this may be when it comes to defeating Democrats in the general  election. November 2010 could be either a sweeping and historic  conservative victory or a permanent and perhaps fatal blow to the <a href=\"http:\/\/spectator.org\/archives\/2010\/09\/10\/the-ruling-class-hits-christin\/\">Republican Party establishment<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>William F. Buckley famously said, \u201calways vote for the  conservative who could win\u201d. I completely agree with this idea. I have  yet to find a <a href=\"http:\/\/thehill.com\/blogs\/ballot-box\/senate-races\/118847-castle-will-not-back-odonnell\">Blue Dog Democrat<\/a> worth supporting and I think their rumored existence is about as likely as <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Bigfoot\">Sasquatch<\/a>.  Despite my respect for Buckley, the political landscape has changed so  much in the last two years that I believe \u201cwho could win\u201d has changed  more than some people may think.<\/p>\n<p>Democrats no longer value our republican form of government and  the liberty of the individual to succeed and fail. Instead, they are  grossly enamored with direct democracy and big government social  engineering. Then there is the Republican Party, which has been  influenced by the lovely-sounding lies of progressivism, sacrificing its  conservative message and classical liberal values to the priests of the  main stream media at the altar of Congress. The Democrat Party should  just dispense with pretenses and start referring to themselves as the  \u201cSocial Democratic Party\u201d.
